Janet Oline Hart Diebold

Janet Hart Diebold was born, July 8, 1917, in Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated from Swarthmore College in 1937, and the law school at Duke University in 1954. She was admitted to the District of Columbia bar in 1955. She lived in Washington, D.C. and served as assistant counsel to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. She was married twice. As Janet Diebold, she published a novel, Mandrake Root, in 1946, about a young American girl studying in Denmark. Under the name, Janet Hart Sylvester, she published legal articles and poems.
