The cover of The Wayne County Historian (vol. 6, no. 2, June 1993) contains a reproduction of a photo of Frank Boyd with the added notation: "Attorney, Judge, State Senator & Poet." The biographical information on Boyd in the article is quite scarce, noting only that: "Frank Boyd, born July 30, 1859; (died Apr. 18, 1937) former District Attorney-General (of 11th Judicial Circuit) of Tennessee, now County Judge, Wayne County, Tenn.; resides at Waynesboro, Tenn., prominent attorney. Married Laura E. Hassell, (born Aug 19, 1962; died March 1, 1911. No children." There is no reference in the brief biographical statement to Boyd being a poet.

In a The Florence (Ala) Times-News article, July 24, 1931, there is an announcement of the publication of a collection of poetry by Frank Boyd titled, Out Here in the Hills.
