This successful lawyer has been editor and owner of the Daily Syracuse Democrate, and of the Weekly Onondaga Democrate, and other publications. [Thomas William Herringshaw, Herringshaw's Encyclopedia of American Biography of the Nineteenth Century 420 (Chicago: American Publishers' Assoc., 1898)]

[An OCLC entry for William Wilkinson Green indicates that Green was born in 1839, not 1820 as Herringshaw reports.]
