Carl Russo practicted law in Northhampton, Massachusetts. He was a co-founder of the Forence Poets Society and co-hosted Twilite's Poetry Pub on Valley Free Radio.

Carl Russo died on October 7, 2012 at the age of 63.

In an obituary published in the Daily Hampshire Gazette, October 10, 2012, we learned that Carl Russo was "was born in Watervliet, N.Y., the son of the late John and Marjorie (Christie) Russo" and "graduated from The University of Buffalo in 1967. At first he couldn't decide if he wanted to study law or social work, but ended up choosing social work and received a masters degree from Buffalo. In his first job he worked with young teens at the local YMCA. Later he came to Northampton to work at the Veterans Administration in Leeds. While working there he decided to go to law school at night and eventually graduated from Western New England School of Law. After 10 years of social work, he established his own law office."
