Digby Bell Butler Digby Bell Butler was a graduate of the Old University of Chicago in 1868 and presented an original poem at graduation exercises. Butler served as judge of probate in Frankfort, Michigan (1866-1872) and later (1877), as a lawyer in the firm of Ramsdell & Benedict in Manistee County, Michigan. He was a Presidential Elector for Michigan in 1896. [Source: Digby B.
