Clarence Ladd Davis
Thos. W. Herringshaw (ed.), Local and National Poets of America 570 (Chicago: American Publishers' Association, 1890) "Born: Manchester, N.H., Aug. 11, 1861. Admitted to the bar of Michigan in 1881. Mr. Davis settled for a while at East Saginaw. He wrote a series of articles in 1885 for the Saginaw Evening News on the labor question, which drew the attention of laboringmen, and he was there candidate for city recorder in the spring of 1886. About this time Mr. Davis removed to New York City, where he is now engaged in journalism. Since 1880 his poems have received publication . . . . Mr Davis was vice-president of the Western Association of Wrtiers in 1886-87, and trustee of same in 1888." [Thos. W.
