Thomas Dawes Thomas Dawes was born in Boston on July 3, 1757. He graduated from Harvard in 1777 and was a member of the State constitutional conventions of 1780 and 1820. He was judge of the Supreme Court of Massachusetts from 1792 until 1803, and then judge of a municipal court from 1803 until 1823. He was, thereafter, a probate judge, a position he held until his death. His literary work includes various orations. He was a member of the Academy of Arts and Sciences.
