"Charles F. Garberson was born in [Marion County, Ohio] in 1851. He received the degree of Bachelor of Arts from the Ohio Wesleyan University in 1873, studied law with W. Z. Davis and was admitted to the bar in 1876. For a time he was in partnership with William E. Scofield. He remained in active practice in this city until 1905 when he went West. He was of a poetic and literary nature, wrote considerable poetry and was an apt and eloquent speaker."
