James F. Harney "Born in Christiansburg, Ky., on March 1, 1824, James F. Harney was the son of Gilbert T. and Charlotte Kyle Harney. In 1835 the family moved to Montgomery County, Ind. He attended Wabash College, worked on the family farm, taught school, and was a carpenter. Harney served in the Indiana legislature and was co-owner of a woolen mill in Ladoga. He read law and practiced in Ladoga and Crawfordsville. For six years he served a[s] circuit judge at Crawfordsville, where he died on March 27, 1904." [Donald E.
