Leo Horan Leo Horan was born in Iowa City, Iowa. He received his LL.B. degree from LaSalle University in 1917. Before taking up the law as a career, Horan was a teacher in Mississippi. From 1919 to 1924 he practiced law with his brother, John P. Horan, and from 1924 to 1940, practiced in Jackson, Mississippi. He then served with the Federal Legal Service in Shreveport, Louisiana. "Mr. Horan has contributed to various poetry magazines and newspapers and has been active in Louisiana and Mississippi poetry societies." [Source: James B.
