"KIMBLE, SAM, lawyer, poet, was born June 19, 1854, in Sarahsville, Ohio. In 1873 he graduated from the Kansas State Agricultural college, with the degree of A. B. In 1875 he was admitted to the bar, and is now one of the foremost lawyers of Kansas, at Manhattan. He has served as city attorney for three terms; two terms as county attorney; and has filled various other public positions of honor.
