Konrad Krez Konrad Krez immigrated to the United States from German and is known as one of several "1848'ers" who fled Germany because of political repression. Krez was born in Landau, Germany in 1928. In the United States he took up residence in Wisconsin. He was a lawyer, poet, and active in Wisconsin politics. He died in 1897 in Milwaukee.
