Charles Carter Lee Charles Carter Lee "was born Nov. 8, 1798, in Stratford, Va. He was a noted lawyer of Virginia and Mississippi. He was the author of some verses known as Virginia Georgics; and The Maid and the Doe, a Lay of the Revolution. He died March 21, 1871, and was buried in Powhatan county, Va."
