Rufus Lisle

(1900-1997)
Kentucky

Rufus Lisle was born in Fayette County, Kentucky but grew up on a cattle ranch in New Mexico. He was home schooled until he returned to Lexington, where he attended 8th and 9th grade before returning to New Mexico. He spent two years at New Mexico State University at Las Cruces and then returned again to Lexington where he obtained his law degree at the University of Kentucky in 1932. In 1997, at the time of his death, Lisle was the senior member of the Fayette County Bar and Of Counsel to the firm of Stites and Harbison.
