James Boyd Martindale "James B. Martindale was born upon a farm in Henry County, Indiana. He came of a sturdy pioneer family that has produced a number of men and women who have been prominent in the communities in which they have lived. He was educated in the public schools and at the New Caste Seminary, studied for the law, and was admitted to the practice in his native county. He soon turned his attention to a branch of business that seemed to offer greater rewards, and first established in Chicago the 'Martindale Law and Collection Agency,' the head office of which is now in New York. The business has grown into large proportions, and remains under the management of Mr. Martindale and his two sons. Mr. Martindale is still loyal to the state and locality of his birth, where he was married, and where his young wife died, leaving to him the care of the two sons who are now his business partners.
