James McCauley "McCauley, James, lawyer, jurist, state legisltor, poet, was born Aug. 23, 1809, in Cecil county, Md. He was a county surveyor and register of wills; has served as a member of the Maryland state legislature; and was five times elected judge. He was a lawyer of Leeds, Md.; contributed extensively both prose and verse to current literature."
