George V.A. McCloskey

(1833-1933)
New York

When George Victor Andronicus McCloskey, a member of the New York Bar for more than 25 years died, Catholic University and the Society for the Propogation of the Faith (Baltimore, Maryland) were named residuary legatees to receive $10,000 for the purpose of the preparation and publication of a "definitive edition" of McCloskey's verse. The will further provided that $3,500 be left to The Neale Publishing Company to defray the cost of publishing the collection of poetry.
