Henry Mellen Henry Mellen, the son of Rev. John Mellen, Sterling, Massachusetts, the brother of Prentiss Mellen (1764-1840) and was, according to various sources, a poet. [See e.g., Elias Nason & George J. Varney, A Gazetteer of the State of Massachusetts 615-616 ( Boston: B.B. Russell, 1890)] He died at Dover, New Hampshire in 1809. Both Henry and Prentiss Mellen studied under their father and entered college in 1780. Henry Mellen pursued the study of law and took up the practice of law at Dover, New Hampshire. Henry Mellen |
