Duke Cole Meredith was born at Jenkinsburg, Georgia on March 9, 1894, the son of James Carroll and Ida Sussana (Weaver) Meredith. He attended Southern Business College, Atlanta Law School, Georgetown Law School, and National University Law School. He obtained both an LL.B. and and LL.M. His poetry appears in Modern American Poetry (1935), Cornwall House (1935), Sidney Lanier Memorial (1934), American States Anthology (1934), The Paebar Anthology of Verse (1937), Contemporary American Men Poets (1937) and in various magazines and newspapers. Meredith was a member of the Catholic Poetry Society of America, Atlanta Writers' Club. He lived in Atlanta, Georgia.
