Daniel F. Miller was born near Frostburg, Maryland on October 4, 1814. "For forty years Mr. Miller was a member of the Territorial Legislature [of Iowa]. He has followed the profession of law since 1835, and is now a resident of Keokuk, Iowa. His poems have appeared extensively in the periodical press."
