--lawyer, writer, newspaper editor George Montrose was born September 30, 1875 at Little Valey, Washoe Co., Neveda. He served as Assistant U.S. Attorney at Carson City, Neveda and was in law prctice at New Gardnerville, Neveda. Typescripts of his poems, essays, and short stories, and writings associated with his early days (ca. 1880) in Bodie and Mono County, California, and Aurora Neveda are contained in the George Albert Montrose Papers, Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. |
