Albert De Pietro

Albert De Pietro was born on September 11, 1913 in Brooklyn, New York. He received his B.B.A. degree in 1935, and his law degree in 1938, from St. John's University. In 1939 he received a J.S.D. (Juris Doctorate) degree from St. John's and was admitted to the New York bar in 1940. In the 1940s De Pietro worked as a tax lawyer for an accounting firm, and beginning in 1952, had a private practice that focused on taxation. From 1955 to 1963 De Pietro was a lecturer in accounting at Brooklyn College (now City University of New York) and beginning in 1963 became a professor of law in the department of accounting and business administration at Nassau Community College, eventually assuming the chairmanship of the department in 1967, a position he held for three years. From 1960 to 1974 he practiced law in Mineola, New York.

De Pietro was a member of the International Poetry Society, Poetry Society of America, New Mexico State Poetry Society, Rhode Island State Poetry Society and the New York State Bar Association, of which he was chairman of the tax law committee from 1962 to 1963.
