James Monroe Ritchie "Ritchie, James Monroe (July 28, 1829-Aug. 17, 1918), lawyer, was born in Dunfermline, Scotland. His family came to America in 1832, settling first in Ogdensburg, N.Y. James taught school in New York and Ohio, read law, and was admitted to the Ohio bar in 1857. He practiced for a short time in Lorain County but in 1858 began to practice in Toledo, where he lived until his death. Using S.E.E. as a pen name, he published numerous poems in Toledo, newspapers. His son, also a lawyer, edited a posthumous collection: Poetical Thoughts . . . ."
