He studied law in the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. In 1885 Mr. Smith was married to Miss Esther J. Pitkin of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and has two children: Margaret G., born in 1887, and William Boyce, born in 1889. Samuel H.
