Joseph Whitla Stinson J.W. Stinson had a reputation as being a "colorful lawyer." He was also a poet and landscape artist. Stinson was born in New York. He studied architecture, civil engineerying and law at columbia University. He served in the State Department as a lawyer in the Latin-American Division.
