Richard Don Wilson R. Don Wilson was from Caswell County, North Carolina. He began his studies at the University of North Carolina in 1840 and graduated in 1842. He taught for a while and then became a lawyer. From 1868 to 1883 he served on the board of trustees of the University of North Carolina. [Sources: Kemp P.
